Introducing The Editors
 

The Asian-Oceanian Textbook of Radiology is co-edited by Professor Wilfred C.G. Peh and Professor Yoshihiro Hiramatsu.

Professor Wilfred C.G. Peh is Senior Consultant Radiologist, Singapore Health Services and Clinical Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He was formerly Professor of Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Hong Kong and Academic Head, Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Singapore General Hospital. After graduation from the National University of Singapore in 1982, he did his Radiology training in Singapore and Glasgow, U.K. He underwent higher subspeciality training in Musculoskeletal Radiology in Birmingham and Oswestry, U.K. and was twice a Visiting Fellow in Musculoskeletal Radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, St Louis, U.S.A. To date, he has authored 3 books, 17 book chapters and over 300 journal publications. He was founding Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the Hong Kong College of Radiologists, and has served on the Editorial Boards of more than 10 journals, including Radiology, British Journal of Radiology, Skeletal Radiology, American Journal of Orthopaedics and Asian-Oceanian Journal of Radiology. He is currently Editor of SGH Proceedings and Deputy Editor of the Singapore Medical Journal. He was awarded the inaugural RSNA Editorial Fellowship in 1998, the ASEAN Association of Radiology Visiting Professorship in 2000 and 2001, and the President's Medal of the International Skeletal Society in 2003. He is currently serving as President of the Asian Musculoskeletal Society and Secretary of the South East Asian Association of Academic Radiologists.

Professor Yoshihiro Hiramatsu is Professor and Chairman, Second Department of Radiology at the Toho University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan. After graduation from Kanazawa University in 1962, he did his Radiology residency at the State University of New York, Syracuse, U.S.A. He later underwent a Fellowship in Paediatric Radiology at the Children's Hospital, Boston, U.S.A. He was formerly Associate Professor at Teikyo University, Kanazawa Medical University, Tokyo Women's Medical College and Tsukuba University, and Visiting Professor at the Shanghai Second Medical University, China. He serves on the Editorial Boards of the Japanese Journal of Clinical Imaging, Pediatric Radiology and Clinical Imaging. He was past President of the Japanese College of Radiology, and held Chairmanships of the Boards of Directors of the Japanese Society of Pediatric Radiology and the Kanto Radiology Society. He has served as Chairman of the ASDIR (Asian-Oceanian Seminars in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology) programme. He is currently a Director of the Japan Radiological Society and of the Japan Society for Medical English Education.
